Electricity Network Visibility

What are the challenges facing Electrical Distribution?:

Globally the Low Voltage (LV) Electricity Networks (230 and 110V) are not adequately monitored. It is often left to the customers and the general public to report outages, power quality issues and other network faults.

Customers have an Increasing Reliance on Electricity.  Changes in expectation and increases in accountability mean, “not knowing” is no longer an acceptable position.

  • Increasing Digital Loads
  • Increasing Power Quality Issues
  • Increasing and Variable Demand
  • Climate Change and Extreme Weather
  • Power Quality Legislation
  • Ageing Infrastructure
  • Distributed Generation - Wind and Solar
  • Distributed Electrical Storage - Batteries
  • Adoption of Electric Vehicles - Local Peak Demand
  • Products made to minimum electrical standards
  • Financial Risk and Legal Action from electrical faults causing fires, equipment failure and loss of production

Electrical Distribution Businesses (EDB) need better visibility of their LV networks
